Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 36, reports as follows:
Communication No. 36, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated December 17, 2012, nominates
Mr. Frank Commendador to the County of Hawaii Board of Appeals. Mr. Commendador is a
lifelong resident of Hawai`i. He is the President and Owner of Jan-Guard Hawaii, Inc., and a
coffee and tea farmer.
Mr. Commendador previously served as a member of the Action Committee of the Puna
Community Development Plan. He has been the President of Fern Acres Community
Association for the past six years. Mr. Commendador states that he is not affiliated with any
political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end on December 31, 2017.
Mr. Commendador is not required to appear before the Council for final confirmation.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 36
and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Frank Commendador to the County of
Hawaii Board of Appeals.
