Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 41, reports as follows:
Communication No. 41, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated December 18, 2012, nominates
Mr. Jon Adams to the North Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee.
Mr. Adams is a 33-year resident of North Kohala and the owner of Mothers Antiques and Fine
Cigars store in North Kohala, which has been in operation for 33 years. He has a strong
background in business, real estate, community planning, developing affordable housing and
installing alternative energy products for properties that he has owned. Mr. Adams has been a
member of the Lions Club for 19 years and has also been an active community member with
other organizations such as the North Kohala Merchants Association. If confirmed, Mr. Adams
will serve a 4-year term.
Mr. Adams is not required to appear before the Council for final confirmation.
For informational purposes, Council member Brenda Ford voted "kanalua" twice.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 41
and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Jon Adams to the North Kohala
Community Development Plan Action Committee.
