Mr. Ow served as the County of Hawai'i Director of Information Technology from June 2012 to December 3, 2012. During this period he worked effectively within the Information and Technology Department overseeing County Information Technology operations island-wide. Pursuant to Rule 5(6) (g) of the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawai'i, we respectfully request a waiver of this nomination through Committee so that it may be considered by the full Council on February 6, 2013. Led the design, development, deployment of the production messaging, web, and accounting systems using 15 SUN E1Ok servers, EMC storage, and Cisco Catalyst 6000s. Apple Computer 12/88 to 7/95 Consulting Engineer US wide responsibility for customer executive briefmgs, conference keynote presentations, and the largest customer networking projects. Area of expertise included Macintosh system design, LAN/WAN architecture, mainframe interoperability, and handheld application development.
