Enclosed for your consideration is a resolution urging the National Association of Counties to support continued funding for the National Center for Safe Routes to School. Because this resolution supports a resolution that will be discussed in the National Association of Counties Legislative Conference in March, I am requesting a waiver from the appropriate committee for the Council's timely consideration. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on Governmental Relations and Economic Development for placement on its future agenda.
