He retired from the University of Hawai'i-Hilo where he was employed as a lecturer. Mr. Heaukulani is an Elks Club Trustee, and a member of the Hawai'i Joint Police Association. He states that he is a member of the Democratic Party and currently serves as the Secretary of the Hawai'i County Democratic Party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2014. Irma Sumera is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. She retired from the County of Hawai'i in 2012, where she worked for 36 years as a private secretary. Ms. Sumera is a member of Professional Secretaries International, and served as past president, vice president and treasurer. She states that she is a Democrat. If confirmed, she will serve a term to end on December 31, 2017. Arlene Waugh is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. From 1982 to 2006, she was employed by the County of Hawai'i as Legislative Information Reference Technician. Ms. Waugh states that she is not affiliated with any political party.
