Kenoi, dated January 11, 2013, submitting the above nominations for the Council’s review and favorable recommendation. Hawai‘i County Charter Section 6-9 requires the empanelment of this new advisory commission with the purpose of advising County, State and Federal agencies on matters related to the preservation of subsistence hunting and fishing, as well as protecting traditional and cultural gathering rights. Recommends confirmation of the appointment of Willie-Joe Camara to the Game Management Advisory Commission: Ayes: Committee Members Eoff, Ford, Ilagan, Kanuha, Kern, Onishi, Poindexter, Yoshimoto, and Chair Wille – 9. Noes: None. Absent: None. Comm. 97: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 16 OF THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY (Bill 32) CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), BY ADDING A NEW ARTICLE RELATING TO IMPLEMENTING SUSTAINABILITY PRINCIPLES FOR THE LONG-TERM WELLBEING OF THE COUNTY AND ITS INHABITANTS From Council Member Margaret Wille, dated January 18, 2013. Adds a new article to Chapter 16, Planning, which requires the Planning Department to prepare an impact strategy action plan prior to issuance of any approval, determination or advisory recommendation under the department’s jurisdiction. Also requires an annual report to the council on the county’s progress with sustainability planning; an annual assessment by the council on the county’s sustainability efforts; and requires the department to keep a record of all decisions and plans made pursuant to the article.
