Dear Chairman Osorio and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of the following
people to the Hawaii County Board of Appeals:
H. Peter L'Orange of Kona to replace Joan M. Channon of
Kohala, whose term will expire on May 31, 1995.
Mr. L'Orange has been a resident of Hawaii for 61 years and
since 1977, has been the President of the Hawaii Leeward
Planning Conference. He is involved in community affairs,
having membership to the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce, the
Kona Soil and water Conservation District, the Hawaii
Cattlemen's Association and the West Hawaii Housing
Foundation. He is a Republican.
B. Jean Rivera of Puna to replace Diane N. Gentry of Puna,
whose term will expire on May 31, 1995.
Mrs. Rivera has been a resident of Hawaii for 38 years. She is
presently retired and was formerly employed by the State of
Hawaii as the Scoreboard Supervisor at the Aloha Stadium
(1975-1988). She is a member of the Hawaiian Paradise Park
