COUNTY OF HAWAII • •� O STATE OF HAWAII art OF•Npf RESOLUTION NO. 59 13 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE AND ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE AND NOMINATING A REPRESENTATIVE TO SERVE AS A DIRECTOR ON THE WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS. WHEREAS, the Hawai`i State Association of Counties (HSAC) is a nonprofit corporation comprised of members of the four county councils of the State of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, each county council represented on HSAC is a member of the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Western Interstate Region (WIR), an organization comprised of western counties affiliated with NACo; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws require that prior to April 15 of each year, each county appoints one of its members to serve as an officer on the HSAC Executive Committee and designate an alternate representative; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws further allow the nomination of a Director to serve on the WIR Board of Directors; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi be, and is hereby appointed as, its representative to the HSAC Executive Committee for the term beginning July 1, 2013. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi is hereby nominated to serve as a Director on the Western Interstate Region Board of Directors for the term beginning with the NACo 2013 WIR Conference in May 2013; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Council Member Greggor Ilagan be, and is hereby appointed as, the alternate to Council Member Dennis "Fresh" Onishi as the Representative to the HSAC Executive Committee for the term beginning July 1, 2013. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the President and Secretary of the Hawai`i State Association of Counties.
