It is my pleasure to nominate Ms. Tiffany Edwards-Hunt from the Puna District to the
County of Hawaii Windward Planning Commission. Ms. Edwards-Hunt is a 12-year
resident of Hawaii. She is a self-employed writer and journalist, and a small business
owner.
Ms. Edwards-Hunt is a member of the Mainstreet Pahoa Association, the Big Island
Press Club, and a Puna Community Medical Center board member. She states that
she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, Ms. Edwards-Hunt will serve a
term that will expire on December 31, 2017, replacing Mr. Dean Au whose term expired
on December 31, 2012.

RE: Communication No. 141 : Nomination of Ms. Tiffany Edwards Hunt to the Windward
Planning Commission
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Planning to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Planning for placement on its future agenda.
