Re: Resolution for multi-year lease
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year, for a
new multi-year lease agreement, for one postage meter for the Office of the Corporation
Counsel. The machine they currently use, which is approximately ten years old, is nearing the
end of its useful life. They wish to replace it with a new unit, at no additional charge, but which
comes with significant upgrades.

A. REQUEST:
Resolution authorizing the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal year for a multi-
year lease for one (1) postage meter for the Office of the Corporation Counsel.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Current postage meter is almost 10 years old and is nearing the end of its useful life.
Upgrade (at no additional cost) would include a 5-lb scale. The scale would be a great asset to the office, as
it would allow mailing of large/heavy documents in a more timely manner.
Upgrade (at no additional cost) would include the ability to make necessary rate changes without purchasing
a new postage chip. Currently, every time the U.S.P.S. rates change, we have to purchase a chip.
Current lease amount is $21.84 per month. Monthly rate for a new 24-month lease agreement should not
exceed $21.84 per month.
