Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 35, reports as follows:
Bill No. 35, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 54-13, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford
via Communication No. 123, dated January 30, 2013, amends Ordinance No. 12-86, as amended,
the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. The
amendment is as follows:
From:
020.3305.67 Hawai`i Energy Rebate - State Highway $ 35,000
To:
020.281.5281.11 LED Light Rebate Program Highway $ 35,000
Hawai`i Energy, the State of Hawai`i's energy conservation and efficiency program is providing a
rebate for up to $35,000 to the Department of Public Works (DPW) to be used towards future
energy savings efforts by DPW's Traffic Division.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent
of the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to
be taken pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other
assistance connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 35, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
