JMSY OF N'�,y <br /> L�dUr <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII _• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ,tEOf <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 73 13 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br /> DONATION OF $50 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO HELP OFFSET <br /> THE COST OF SENDING FLOWERS TO THE FIRST SELECTMAN OF <br /> NEWTOWN IN MEMORY OF THE VICTIMS AT SANDY HOOK <br /> ELEMENTARY SCHOOL <br /> WHEREAS, Brenda and Larry Ford are donating $50 to the County of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to help offset the cost of sending flowers to the <br /> First Selectman of Newtown in memory of the victims at Sandy Hook Elementary School; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or <br /> other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article <br /> 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, <br /> securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the <br /> Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash <br /> donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Finance recommends the acceptance of this donation; <br /> now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, <br /> Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii <br /> accepts this donation. <br />
