Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 121, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 121, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated January 25, 2013 transmits the
nomination of Ms. Deborah L. Chang to the Hawai`i County Cultural Resources Commission.
Ms. Chang is a lifelong resident of Hawai`i. She is a self-employed land use planner specializing
in trails and access issues. Ms. Chang states that she is not affiliated with any political party.
Ms. Chang will serve a 1-year term.
Because Ms. Chang was not able to be present and today's committee meeting she has been
requested to appear before the full Council for final confirmation.
For informational purposes Council Member Ford voted "kanalua"then"no"and commented
that she will approve of the nominee when Ms. Chang appears before the Council for
confirmation.
Your Committee on Planning is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 121, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Ms. Deborah L. Chang to the
Hawai`i County Cultural Resources Commission.
