Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Diane B. Kahler of Hilo to the
Hawaii County Civil Service Commission to replace Ronald M. Okamura of Hilo,
whose term will expire on December 31, 1998.
Ms. Kahler is a 23-year resident of Hawaii and since 1988, has been with the
Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council and presently serves as its Deputy
Director. She is active with the Head Start Association of Hawaii and the Naauao
Neighborhood Watch Program. Ms. Kahler is a member of the Democratic Party.
If approved, Ms. Kahler will serve a term to end on December 31, 2003. Should
the Council require further information regarding this nomination, you may call
me at your convenience.
