SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
SECTION 24-260 - 45 MPH SPEED LIMIT — MAMALAHOA BYPASS
HIGHWAY
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 1
(Speed Limits), Section 24-260, Schedule 8 (45 mile per hour limit), subsection (f), Kona
be amended by revising existing item as follows:
(4) Mamalahoa Bypass Highway[, from a point four hundred sixty feet south of the

The purpose of this measure is to revise the speed limits along Mamalahoa Bypass
Highway in accordance with the Mamalahoa Highway Bypass Road project and to be
more appropriate to the current conditions of the roadway.
A location map is attached for your reference.
