Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 65-13, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 65-13, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 152
dated February 21, 2013, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one
fiscal year for a multi-year lease for one (1) postage meter for the Office of the Corporation Counsel.
The postage machine currently used by the Office of the Corporation Counsel is approximately ten years
old and is near the end of its useful life. The department wishes to enter into a two-year lease for a new
unit, which comes with significant upgrades, at no additional charge.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be
made or approved by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 65-13, and
recommends its adoption.
