Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 66-13, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 66-13, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 155
dated February 21, 2013, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawai`i
Department of Human Resources Development, pursuant to HRS 46-7, to provide workers'
compensation administration services.
The Department of Human Resources Workers' Compensation Division seeks to renew its agreement
with the State of Hawai`i to continue providing workers' compensation administration services for the
Department of Parks and Recreation and the Police Department.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, county departments must obtain the consent of the
Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be taken
pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 66-13, and
recommends its adoption.
