SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT
Section 24-153.4. Permits; issuance; procedure
The requirements to apply for a road closure permit no later than thirty
(30) days preceding the date of the proposed event or activity is not
reasonable for construction projects.
We met with a representative of the Police Department and decided that
the submittal date should be shortened to fourteen (14) days for
construction activities within the road right-of-way.
We request that the Hawaii County Code, Chapter 24, Article 7,
Section 24-153.4. (a)(1) be amended as described in the attached draft
for an ordinance.
