Your Committee on Public Works and Parks, to which was referred Communication No. 799,
and attached Bill No. 272, reports as follows:
The purpose of Bill No. 272 is to amend Chapter 24 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (1995
Edition) relating to vehicles and traffic by adding five intersections to the list of intersections
authorized to have traffic signals. Streets to be added are Komohana/Ponahawai,
Ponahawai/Kapiolani, Highway 19/Pukalani, Route 11/Haleki`i, and Route 11/Konawaena
School Road.
Communication No. 799 is from Deputy Chief Engineer Jiro A. Sumada, dated May 31, 2000,
transmitting Bill No. 272 for the Council's review and consideration.
Your Committee is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 272, and recommends
that it pass first reading.
