RESOLUTION NO. 95 13
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A FORTY (40)
FOOT DRY CONTAINER FROM MATSON
WHEREAS, Matson is donating a forty (40) foot dry container, with an
estimated value between $6,500 to $7,000 to the Department of Parks and
Recreation; and
WHEREAS, this container will be used for storage of the Parks Maintenance
division's equipment and supplies; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Matson, ATTN: Mike Lee, P.O. Box 899, Honolulu, Hawaii
96808, acknowledging this generous donation.
