Subject: Please Repeal Act 97, it is not Right!
I am submitting my testimony on Res. 12-13, the repeal of act 97.
I support Res. 42-13 because I do not agree or approve of Act 97 and the way it strips the people that live on this
special island of the ability to keep geothermal out of our backyards. Act 97 puts the power to make decision in the
hands of people that do not live here, and that is not Pono!
Niahalo for supporting this resolution and keeping us safe from geothermal, and all industry development. We don't
need it here on the islands. The Hawai'ians lived a very beautiful way of life here before industry showed up. I would
like to get back to living in harmony with Pele, and not have to be told constantly that developers are planning on
moving in.
I live in the Puna district and most of us that live here, live off the grid, we don't need any big power plants! We live
here because we want to have peace and quiet and clean food water and air. Industry, of any kind, even
geothermal, takes that god given right away from us, and we must not let that happen anymore.
