Confirmation of Lincoln S.T. Ashida, Corporation Counsel
Comm. No. 105
I support Lincoln Ashida as the Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai'i. Lincoln is
honest, hard working, dependable and intelligent. Lincoln puts the interest of his clients first.
Lincoln has taught and continues to teach hundreds of County of Hawai'i employee's areas of
the law that will help them do their job better and protect the County's interests. Teaching them is his
way of practicing "preventive lawyering" which result in fewer lawsuits for the future.
Lincoln believes in having the best tools to do the job. He looks at innovative ways for the staff
to do their work. He believes in technology of the future to make the office and County more efficient.
Under his leadership the office was recognized and awarded a "Run Smarter" award by Laserfiche
Corporation. The Run Smarter award was awarded to Corporation Counsel because of their use of
the Laserfiche software that made their office a paperless one.
Lincoln is a hard worker. He is the first one in the office and the last one to leave. He works
from home on the weekends and late at night during the week. He sacrifices a lot for his job. His
dedication and passion that he has for his office and this County is immeasurable.
Lincoln does not make excuses. He tells the truth. I have worked with him for over 23 years
and I have never had to make an excuse to anyone for him at anytime. He does not screen his
phone calls - he will speak to anyone. He takes care of matters up front and deals with issues as
they arise. He does not put things "on the back burner".
I support Lincoln S.T. Ashida as the Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai'i. I humbly
ask you to do the same.
