No. 88 -13 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Kona, Hawaii <br />TIME: 5:18 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 88 -13, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 88 -13, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 55, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via <br />Communication No. 203, dated March 8, 2013, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with <br />the State of Hawaii, pursuant to HRS 46 -7, for a grant to fund the purchase of materials for road <br />maintenance along Keanakolu Road (Mana Road). <br />Resolution No. 88 -13 authorizes acceptance of this grant with the University of Hawaii. <br />There was no discussion on this measure. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent of <br />the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to be <br />taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds or other <br />assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br />Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 88 -13, and <br />recommends its adoption. <br />sc <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />VALERIE T.
