No. 189 <br />Your Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit, to which was referred Communication <br />No. 189, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 189, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated March 6, 2013, <br />nominates Mr. John M. Bertsch of Council District 8 to the County of Hawai`i Police <br />Commission. <br />Mr. Bertsch, a 21 -year resident of Hawai`i, is self - employed as a consultant in construction <br />management. He is a Volunteer Fire Captain with the Hawai`i Fire Department, and is the <br />Director of Public Safety Emergency Management for the Ironman Triathlon. Mr. Bertsch <br />previously served on the Police and Fire Commissions, and states that he is not affiliated with <br />any political party.
