Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Resolution
No. 89-13 reports as follows:
Resolution No. 89-13, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren Lee via Communication
No. 205, dated February 14, 2013, grants a variance from Chapter 3, Section 3-58(c) of the
Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), to allow one wall sign on 75-934 Henry
Street, TMK Number (3) 7-5-004:31 (Zoned CG-20, Kailua Village Special Design District).
The applicant, Starbucks Coffee Company is requesting a sign variance for a projecting sign. The
proposed sign/symbol is 9 square feet in area and 36 inches in diameter mounted at 10 feet above
finish grade. Per section 3-58(c), Hawai`i County Code, the maximum allowable letter and/or
symbol is nine inches.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Resolution No. 89-13, and recommends its adoption.
