Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 190, reports as
follows:
Communication No. 190, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated March 5, 2013, transmits the
nomination of Mr. Gregory C. Henkel to the Windward Planning Commission.
Executive Assistant to Mayor Kenoi, Ms. Charmaine Shigemura, introduced Mr. Henkel. She
stated that he is a 26-year resident of Hawai`i who is also a member of the Black Sands Beach
Property Owners Association, the East Hawai`i Community Development Corporation, and the
Puna Canoe Club.
There was no discussion from Committee Members and all were in agreement that Mr. Henkel
does not need to appear before the full Council for final confirmation.
Your Committee on Planning is in accordance with the purpose and intent of Communication
No. 190, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Mr. Gregory C. Henkel to the
Windward Planning Commission.
