Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Wendy Mapuana Waipa, of Council District 3 to the
County of Hawaii Fire Commission. Ms. Waipa is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. She is
presently employed by Ka Ana La'ahana Public Charter School as their Fiscal Officer.
Ms. Waipa is the Vice President of the Keaukaha Community Association, a member of
'ILAU — Independent Leaders of Aloha United, and a past Chair and Vice Chair of Ke
Ana La'ahana Public Charter School Local School Board.
Ms. Waipa states that she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she will
serve a term that will expire on December 31, 2017, replacing Kaloa Robinson whose
term expired on December 31, 2012.
