Dear Chairman Yosnimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the Hawaii County Veterans
Advisory Committee.
Wayne T. Nishijima is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. He is the present secretary of the
Big Island National Guard Retirees Association. If confirmed, Mr. Nishijima will serve a
term to expire on December 31, 2015, replacing Mr. Edward Lee whose term expired on
December 31, 2010.
John S. Okino is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. He is a member of the 442nd Veterans
Association. If confirmed, Mr. Okino will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2016,
replacing the late Mr. George Mukai, whose term expired on December 31, 2011.
