Subject: support for 2013 CIP budget Items 2013-025 & 2013-031
Dear County Council,
I support the 2013 CIP budget items 2013-025 and 2013-031 for improvements to our North
Kohala County parks at Mahukona, Kapa'a and Kam Park.
North Kohala has relatively little accessible shoreline, making Mahukona and Kapa'a the
primary spots for visitors and residents to swim, fish, and launch small boats. Kam Park,
with its pool, gymnasium, playing fields, and central location is vital for sports teams
and community events. "Wear and tear" shows up with all this intensive use. We
respectfully request your support for upgrading and renovating our parks to keep pace with
the needs of the community and our visitors alike.
