SUBJECT: Certificate of Recognition Presentation for the May 15th Council Meeting
I am requesting your approval to present one certificate on May 15, 2013, during the Council meeting.
The Lance Corporal Hayward Kimo Hamili Peleiholani Post,Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3830 (VFW
Post 3830), is celebrating three decades of community service.This organization has served the public
since 1945 under different names and has had one location change in 1959,when it was moved from
Hickam Field on O'ahu to Pahoa.The VFW Post 3830 is named after a Marine from Pahoa who joined
the many who sacrificed their lives for the country in the Vietnam War.This organization has a
longstanding history of helping the community by assisting Veterans, cadets, active military,the elderly
and indigent. Please join me in recognizing the past and present members of VFW Post 3830 for their
selfless service.
Spokespeople from the organization will be present to accept the certificate on behalf of the entire body
of the VFW Post 3830. Presentation of this certificate is expected to take ten (10) minutes at the Council
Meeting on May 15, 2013.
