Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 61,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 61, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. Lee, via Communication No. 241
dated April 12, 2013, amends Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 5 (Parking), 24-280,
Schedule 28 (No parking anytime), subsection (g) Puna, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983
(2005 Edition, as amended) relating to parking.
This amendment adds a portion of Kahakai Boulevard, Northeast (Makai) side, between the two
driveways of Keonepoko Elementary School along the Southwest property line of
TMK: 1:5:009:059.
The intent of this amendment is to address a request by Keonepoko Elementary School to
improve traffic safety during student drop-off and pick-up times.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill No. 61, and recommends its passage on first reading.
