Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 62,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 62, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. Lee, via Communication No. 242
dated April 12, 2013, amends Chapter 24, Article 10 (Schedules), Division 8 (Restriction on
Certain Vehicles), Section 24-293, Schedule 41 (use of certain streets by certain vehicles
restricted), subsection (f) Kona, under paragraph 1(vehicles having a gross vehicle weight rating
of three or more tons), and paragraph 3 (bicycles, mopeds, and motor scooters), of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended).
These amendments delete the Mamalahoa Bypass Highway,North and South Kona districts, for
vehicles having a gross vehicle weight of three or more tons, and a portion of Haleki`i Street and
the Mamalahoa Bypass Highway, North and South Kona Districts, for bicycles, mopeds, and
motor scooters.
The intent of these amendments is to revise the Hawaii County Code in accordance with the
Mamalahoa Highway Bypass Road Project.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill No. 62, and recommends its passage on first reading.
