RESOLUTION NO. 379
SETTING PER DIEM OF $30 .00 FOR ANY P'IEMBER OF THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS WHEN AWAY FFtOI'i THE COUNTY OF HA'rdAII TO ATTEND
PRE-LEGISLATIVE HEARINGS OR BEFORE THE LEGISLATURE OR ITS
COMFI1TTEES IN SUPPORT OF COUNTY LEGISLATIONS .
WHEREAS , the performance of County business necessitates
the appearance of members of the Board of Supervi sors away
from the County of Hawaii to attend pre- legislative hearings ,
or testify or lobby before the State Legislature or its
committees in matters of County interests; and
EHE tE.A.S , personal expenses are incurred on such official
business trips;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that any County
Supervisor , while away from the County of Hawaii to attend
pre- legislative hearings or to testify or lobby before the
State Legislature or its committees in support of County
legislations shall be allowed a per diem of $50 .00 a day ,
which amount is to cover all personal e;; ;en'<e such as board,
lodging, etc . , but not fares for air transportation; and the
auditor is directed to issue a warrant payable to such
Supervisor for such purpose , out of departmental travel
account , at the above rate , from the date of his departure
from, to the date of his return to, the County of
upon furnishing a sworn signed statement setting forth the
time of absence . For the purpose of computing per diem,
twenty-four (2 ) hours shall constitute a day; provided,
however , any Supervisor who is awe'' from the County for this
purpose for less than twelve ( 12 ) hours shall be entitled

to $15 .00 , and provided further that any Supervisor who
is away for more than twelve ( 12 ) hours but less than
twenty-four ( L ) hours shall be entitled to (;30 .00 .
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that County or Hawaii Ti.esoluticn
No. 29 is hereby reliealed.
BE IT FURTHER that the County Clerk be and
she is hereby authorized and directed to forward a copy of
this resolution to the County Auditor, County Treasurer ,
County Purchasing Aent , and to the Assistant to Board
Committees .
