RESOLUTION NO. 384
WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Hawaii periodically
provides rovides for salary increases for county employees, together with
sufficient appropriations for a limited period of time; and
WHEREAS, the counties are thereafter mandated to assume
the increased salary costs without the aid of the Legislature;
and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii is in a dire financial position
and lacks the ability to maintain the mandated salary increase
payments to all of its employees,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that the Honorable William F. Quinn,
Governor, State of Hawaii, and the Legislature be and are hereby
respectfully requested to provide the means of financing the
raise of county employees on a permanent basis in the event
that salary increases are provided for government workers.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is
hereby directed to forward copies of this resolution to the
Honorable William F. Quinn, Governor, State of Hawaii, the
Honorable William H. Hill, President of the Senate, and the
Honorable Elmer F. Cravalho, Speaker of the House of Represent.
