RESOLUTION NO. 386
WHEREAS, the services offered by the County of Hawaii
demand that certain of its employees work on split-shifts and
also render stand-by services; and
WHEREAS, said employees are not compensated for said disadvan-
tageous working conditions thereby unduly penalizing said workers;
and
WHEREAS, adequate provision should be made to compensate
said workers for said adverse working conditions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that the Legislature of the
State of Hawaii be and is hereby respectfully requested to
provide an adequate differential for employees of the County of
Hawaii who work on split-shifts and who render stand-by services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is
hereby directed to forward copies of this resolution to the
Honorable William H. Hill, President of the Senate, the
Honorable Elmer F. Cravalho, Speaker of the House of Representatives,
and to all the Members of the Legislature from the County of
Hawaii .
