RESOLUTION NO. 388
WHEREAS, Akaka Falls is under the jurisdiction of
the Department of Land and Natural Resources, State of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the compensation of the park caretaker of
Akaka Falls is being paid by the County of Hawaii because
the position of park caretaker for Akaka Falls has not been
created on the state level ; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Land and Natural Resources
is including the position of park caretaker for Akaka Falls
in its budget request to the budget session of the State
Legislature; and
WHEREAS, it is only fair and equitable that the state
should assume the financial as well as the administrative
responsibility over Akaka Falls,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that the Legislature of the
State of Hawaii be and is hereby respectfully requested to
give favorable consideration to the budgetary request of the
Department of Land and Natural Resources for the creation of
a position of park caretaker for Akaka Falls.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is
hereby directed to send copies of this resolution to the
Honorable William H. Hill, President of the Senate, the
Honorable Elmer F. Cravaiho, Speaker of the House, and to all
the Members of the Legislature from the County of Hawaii.
