HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 391 Draft 01 1962 COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 391 WHEREAS, the First State Legislature of 1961, by Section 1-D-III-1 of Act 195, appropriated the sum of $300, 000 to extend General Lyman Field in Hilo, Hawaii, to accommodate jet aircraft; and WHEREAS, upon the completion of this undertaking, jet airliners may utilize the said airport for direct flights to and from the mainland U.S.A., as well as from Honolulu; and WHEREAS, the utilization of this airport by commercial jet airliners may necessitate the construction of additional appropriate terminal facilities at General Lyman Field to adequately accommodate said airliners and their passengers, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that the Legislature of the State of Hawaii be and is hereby respectfully requested to look into the matter of providing General Lyman Field with all necessary and proper terminal facilities to accommodate commercial jet airline traffic. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be directed to forward a copy each of this resolution to the President of the Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the Natural Resources Development and Transportation Committee, Chairman of the Harbors and Airports Committee, and to all the members of the Legislature from the County of Hawaii .
