HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 392 Draft 01 1962 COUNTY OF HAWAII - STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 3 92 WHEREAS, a direct route from Hilo to Central Kona has long been recognized as essential for the development of the County of Hawaii ; and WHEREAS, for many years a new and shorter route from Hilo to Kona has been advocated by many organizations and agencies; and WHEREAS, it has been estimated that the traveling public could have saved over a million dollars if said shorter and direct route had been available during the past eight years; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Hawaii has in previous occasions favored and endorsed a direct route from Hilo to Central Kona. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in and for the County of Hawaii that the Legislature of the State of Hawaii be and is hereby respectfully requested to appropriate sufficient moneys for the construction of a road between Hilo and Central Kona. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk be and is hereby directed to forward a copy each of this resolution to the Honorable William H. Hill, President of the Senate, the Honorable Elmer F. Cravalho, Speaker of the House of Represent- atives, and to the members of the Legislature from the County of Hawaii.
