RESOLUTION NO. 395
WHEREAS, the Hawaiian Kings of long ago put aside their
cares and journeyed to Kona, in the County of Hawaii, to enjoy
the loveliest climate of any island; where the greatest
swordfish and marlin in Hawaii have been caught through
centuries. . .and are being caught today; and
WHEREAS, Kona presents an environment of peace, quietness,
friendliness and tranquility, with superb natural physical
beauty and distinct attractive villages; and
WHEREAS, everything possible to make an outstanding
conference site is available in Kona; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the citizenry of
the youngest state in the Union share with their fellow
countrymen the unique wonders of their island paradise,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
in and for the County of Hawaii that the most cordial invitation
and "aloha" of the people of the County of Hawaii, State of
Hawaii, be and is hereby extended to the Western Regional District,
National Association of County Officials to hold its next
Conference in Kona, County of Hawaii, State of Hawaii.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Supervisor Elroy T. Leialoha
Osorio and Supervisor Elias Perfecto Yadao be and are hereby
requested to present copies of this resolution to the
appropriate officials.
