COUNTY OF HAWAII •. �'- '�/ • STATE OF HAWAII •RESOLUTION NO. 116 13 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HAWAII STATE ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SLATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014. WHEREAS, the Hawai`i State Association of Counties (HSAC) is a nonprofit corporation comprised of members of the four county councils of the State of Hawai`i; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws state that prior to May 30 of each year, the appointed members from each county council "shall present to each council a slate of proposed officers. The slate shall propose who, among the appointees, is to serve in each office of the corporation for the term commencing the immediate following July 1"; and WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee at its meeting on May 6, 2013, approved the slate of Executive Committee members; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws state that prior to the HSAC annual meeting, "each council after receipt of the slate shall take the action deemed necessary to act on the slate at the annual meeting; provided that no council shall take any action requesting or requiring removal from the slate of an appointee from another council"; and WHEREAS, HSAC bylaws state that Council approval is required for the nomination of representatives to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Board of Directors and the Western Interstate Region (WIR) Board of Directors; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following slate of HSAC Executive Committee officers is approved for Fiscal Year 2013-2014: President: Mel Rapozo; Ross Kagawa (Alternate) Vice President: Dennis "Fresh" Onishi; Greggor Ilagan (Alternate) Secretary: Stanley Chang; Ikaika Anderson (Alternate) Treasurer: Michael P. Victorino; G. Riki Hokama (Alternate). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Michael P. Victorino and Gary L. Hooser are approved to serve on the NACo Board of Directors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Dennis "Fresh" Onishi and Mel Rapozo are approved to serve on the WIR Board of Directors.
