Re: Amendment to the Hawai`i County Code
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending Chapter 24, Article 4, Sections 24-17, 24-18 and 24-
19 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended)pertaining to Motor vehicle tax
computation, Motor vehicle tax minimum tax, and Vehicle registration fees, respectively. The
proposed amendment would provide additional revenue for the Highway Fund to support road
maintenance and transportation operations. Additionally, new registration fees would more
closely reflect the costs associated with the operation of the Vehicle Registration and Licensing
Division.
