The Hawai`i Electric Company, Inc. ("HELCO"), which has an existing unit situated on this site, requested an easement from the County of Hawai`i that will allow for additional equipment to be stationed there. Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Director of Finance to negotiate a grant of easement to HELCO to be used for the purpose stated above and in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 19 of the Hawai`i County Code. REQUEST: Prepare County Council submittal authorizing the Finance Director to grant an easement for utility purposes to Hawaii Electric Light Company, Inc. (HELCO) B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): The County of Hawai'i is the owner of Aupuni Center located at 101 Pauahi Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, identified as Tax Map Key (3) 2-2-015:033. HELCO has existing pad mounted transformer units in place on a portion of the property and requested an easement from the County of Hawaii to allow for a pad mounted switch to be placed adjacent to the existing equipment.
