ORDINANCE NO. 89 160
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 89 -86, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 1989 TO JUNE 30, 1990.
WHEREAS, the Honomu Community has repeatedly requested the
resurfacing of an 800 feet section of county road extending from
Honomu Gym to Akaka Falls Road; and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that funds are available within the
appropriation for the resurfacing of the Mamalahoa Highway, Kolekole
to Chin - Chuck; and
WHEREAS, both projects are within the South Hilo fuel tax
district; and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that it is desirable to extend the
Kolekole to Chin -Chuck Resurfacing project to include the 800 feet
section from Honomu Gym to Akaka Falls Road.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 89 -86, as amended, Relating to Public
Improvements and Financing Thereof For the Fiscal Year July 1, 1989
to June 30, 1990 is hereby further amended by changing the project
title Mamalahoa /Kolekole -Chin Chuck, as originally appropriated by
Ordinance 88 -78, to Mamalahoa /Kolekole- Chin -Chuck and Honomu
Gym - Akaka Falls Road.
SECTION 2. Funds for the retitled project shall be provided
from the $150,000 originally designated for the
Mamalahoa /Kolekole -Chin Chuck project.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
