Re: Resolution No. 124-13–Lease for Elections Warehouse
Attached please find information and photographs pertaining to Resolution No. 124-13,
regarding the lease for the County Elections warehouse. This information will be processed and
properly referred for discussion at the June 5, 2013 meeting of the Hawai'i County Council.

ELECTIONS WAREHOUSE
• A check for warehouse space with the County of Hawaii Property Management—No
space available.
• A check for warehouse space with the State DAG's No space available.
• A check for warehouse space was done utilizing 3 web advertising sites. Approximately
20-30 ads were checked over a period of 2 months. The following warehouse spaces
were available but did not meet the criteria:
1. Self Storage Facility each unit approximately 192 sq. ft. $225 per unit. To meet
storage requirement we would need to rent 16 storage units. Cost $3,600 per month.
2. Facility at 230 Kekuanaoa St. 4,000 sq. ft. at $0.70 a sq. ft. Cost $2,800 per month.
3. Facility at 115 Kuawa St. 7,200 sq. ft. can be divided up into 1,800 sq. ft. spaces at
$0.80 a sq. ft. for 3,600 sq. ft. Cost $2,880 per month.
4. Facility at 1266 Kamehameha Ave. 2,000 sq. ft. at $0.62 a sq. ft. Cost $1,240 per
month.
5. Facility at 60 Kuhio St. 4,500 sq. ft. at $0.75 a sq. ft. Cost $3,375 per month.
6. Facility being constructed, minimum space 1,415 sq. ft. maximum space 11,140 sq.
ft. at $1.20 per sq. ft. for 3,000 sq. ft. Cost $3,600 per month.
7. Facility at 23 Pohaku St. 1.421 sq. ft. at $0.75 a sq. ft. Cost $1.065.75 per month.
8. Facility at 55 Kumau St. 1,580 sq. ft. at $0.95 a sq. ft. Cost $1,501 per month (1 Bay).
9. Facility at 55 Kumau St. 3.160 sq. ft. at $0.95 a sq. ft. Cost $3,002 per month (2
Bays).
