Parks and Recreation
Pahoa District Park- $20,000, 000
Aloha Council Members,
As a member of the Pahoa Regional Town Center Steering Committee, I am
testifying in support of the continuance of the development of the Pahoa
District Park keeping with the Puna Community Development Plan's Goals and
Objectives.
Our Pahoa District Park will bond families, not only in Puna, but the whole
Island with competitive and family sports, Performance stage, walking trails,
picnic areas and for those seeking higher learning, a Library.
We extend our humblest gratitude to Mayor Billy Kenoi and the Council for the
$5.5 million allowing the planning of the first phase of the Pahoa District Park
which is underway. We look forward to the planning of Phase II with the $20
million Mayor Billy Kenoi requested in the budget, and we ask that you approve
and grant this request.
