The resolution authorizes the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to enter into a five-year lease for a Voice Over Internet Protocol system to be used in the Kona office. Comm. 289: AMENDS CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 4, OF THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY CODE 1983 (Bill 85) (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO FEES From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated May 16, 2013. The bill would raise the vehicle weight class for all classes of vehicles, including the minimum tax for said vehicles; and raise the annual registration fee for all vehicles. Comm. 290: AUTHORIZES A GRANT OF EASEMENT FOR UTILITY PURPOSES TO HAWAI‘I (Res. 121-13) ELECTRIC LIGHT COMPANY, INC., OVER TAX MAP KEY (3)2-2-015:033 (POR.) From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated May 16, 2013. The resolution authorizes the Director of Finance to negotiate a grant of easement to Hawai‘i Electric Company, Inc. to allow for additional equipment to be stationed on the above-referenced site pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 19 of the Hawai‘i County Code. Recommends adoption of Res. 121-13: Ayes: Committee Members Eoff, Ford, Ilagan, Kanuha, Kern, Onishi, Wille, Yoshimoto, and Chair Poindexter – 9. Noes: None. Absent: None. FC-13 Page 4 June 4, 2013 UNFINISHED BUSINESS Comm. 24: ESTABLISHES A REAL PROPERTY TAX STAKEHOLDERS TASK FORCE (Res. 18-13) From Council Member Margaret Wille, dated December 3, 2012. Resolves that the Real Property Tax Stakeholders Task Force be established, under the direction of the Finance Director, to address those recommendations contained in the International Association of Assessing Officers Report, entitled “Technical Assistance Report Evaluating Property Tax Policies and Administrative Practices in Hawai‘i County,” as transmitted to the County Council by Communication No. 641 (2010-12 Council term), on May 5, 2012. Postponed: December 18, 2012 April 30, 2013 (Note: There is a pending motion by Ms. Wille and duly seconded by Mr. Ilagan to recommend adoption of Res. 18-13; and a pending motion made by Ms. Wille and duly seconded by Mr. Onishi to amend Res. 18-13 with the contents of Comm. 24.3.)
