I believe this proposed amendment still needs some fine-tuning. In Section 25-5-76(c),
the existing code starts out:
"For accessory uses such as plastic roofed and saran shade wooden or metal framed
The new code would read:
"For plastic roofed and saran shade wooden or meta] framed structures
Removing the words "such as" leaves the code endorsing a particular shade cloth. 1
believe it would be better to simply remove the word "accessory" so that the code would
read:
"For uses such as plastic roofed and saran shade wooden or metal framed structures
An even better solution would be to simply say shade cloth and delete references to saran.
This criticism also applies to Section 25-5-86 changes.
Since these sections are up for modification anyway, I would suggest that 25-5-76(c)(I )
also be changed. It currently reads:
Exterior walls of any type other than saran are added to the wooden or metal
framed structure;
Clearly, the intent for this exception is:
Exterior walls of any type other than plastic film or shade cloth are added to the
framed structure;
