Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 120-13, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 120-13, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 288
dated May 16, 2013, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and of more than one fiscal
year for a multi-year lease for a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP)phone system for the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney in Kona.
Business Manager Lee Lord, from the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, came before Your
Committee. He clarified that the funds for the lease would be sufficient to accommodate the
Prosecuting Attorney's office in Kona.
Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawai`i County Charter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring
payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year shall be
made or approved by resolution.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 120-13, and
recommends its adoption.
