Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Kenneth Obenski of Council District 6 to the County of
Hawaii Transportation Commission. Mr. Obenski is a 7-year resident of Hawaii. He is
a retired consulting engineer who specialized in forensic engineering reconstruction of
accidents. Mr. Obenski is a member of the Rotary Club of Kona Mauka and the
president of the Kona President Property Owners Association. He is the chairman of
the Kona Traffic Safety Committee, and a member of the Kona Crime Prevention
Committee and the Hawaii Traffic Safety Council.
Mr. Obenski states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will
serve a term to expire on December 31, 2017, replacing Amos Meyers, Jr. whose term
expired on December 31, 2012.
