Re: A RESOLUTION TO AMEND SALARY ORDINANCE NO. 13-50 BY
AMENDING SECTION 3(B) BY INCREASING THE AFFECTED PAY
GRADES BY 4% FOR THE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH
Please find attached a resolution amending Ordinance No. 13-50, which amends Section 3(b)
with a new pay grade increase of 4%; however, each pay grade step are in increments of 5% (no
change between steps). The LE-2 (Legal Specialist) has not been changed. The proposed
amendment is illustrated below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Ordinance No
13-50 (materials to be deleted is bracketed and stricken through; materials to be added are
underlined). Section 3(b) is amended to read as follows:

RE: Resolution No. 132-13 : A Resolution to Amend Salary Ordinance No. 13-50 by
Amending Section 3(B) by Increasing the Affected Pay Grades by 4% for the Legislative
Branch
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i,this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
